Reopening of our Church for the public celebration of Mass

We, the Priests of the Parish are pleased to welcome our parishioners back to the celebration of Mass in our Church, commencing on Friday, 3rd July for the 10.00am Mass.

In doing so, the safety and health of people, ministers and priests must be paramount.  To reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19, public health advice emphasises the importance of Physical Distancing, Good Hand Hygiene and Respiratory Etiquette and Regular Cleaning and Sanitising Shared Spaces.  Strict adherence to this advice will be absolutely essential. All of us, therefore, will have to take personal responsibility for following the parts of the advice that apply to us as individuals.

Government guidelines drastically limits the number of people that may attend each Mass due to the requirements  to maintain physical distance from each other (currently at least 2 metres) and to stay within any overall limitations to attendances that may be imposed.   Also, to allow time for the Church to be fully cleaned and sanitised between Masses, as is required, the number of Masses on Sundays will be reduced from three to two, subject to review after a trial period.

The revised Mass Times will be:    SATURDAYS – 6:00pm

                                                            SUNDAYS – 8.30am and 11.30am

The dispensation from the Sunday and Holy Day obligation has been extended for the time being.  To meet their obligation, this will give parishioners the option of attending Mass at 10:00am on any weekday (Monday to Friday), rather than on the busier weekend days. If their circumstances allow, we urge them attend a weekday Mass, rather than a weekend one, to assist us in complying with restrictions to attendance numbers.

It is important that people who feel vulnerable or unwell, and especially those with any symptoms that might suggest Covid-19 infection, should STAY AT HOME.

They, as well as any other parishioners, may participate, via webcam, social media, television or radio and still satisfy their Mass obligation.

Mass will continue to be transmitted via WEB-CAM.

DAILY MASS – MONDAY TO FRIDAY AT 10 A.M.

SUNDAY MASS AT 11:30 A.M.

PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR REGULAR UPDATES.
